Role Play Task:

Each student will be assigned a historically based character to research. Students will develop the character's point of view for that time period. He/She will write a persuasive text to be presented orally as part of debate on the pros and cons of Confederation.

Welcome to Intermediate History! The study of history helps us to better understand how the world we live in came to be the way it is. Please read below for a brief overview of this term's focus of study.

Grade 7 History

Term One: New France

Students will have the opportunity to examine the culture of the French communities in North America during the seventeenth and eighteenth centuries. An important emphasis will be placed on exploring and discussing the different perspectives among the First Nation peoples and French and English settlers.

Grade 8 History

Term One: Confederation

This term, we will learn how the country we know as Canada grew as a nation. We will examine the major factors and events that led to the creation of the Dominion of Canada in 1867. We will evaluate and role play the many different points of view present among a diverse group of people.
