See our Ancient Egytian Murals and find out what is next!
Our students are working on a combined language and social studies project.
I have prepared samples of good topic choices for research on one of the Ancient Civilizations. We have an excellent selection of books at the library. Students have had time to read specific topics and to make jot notes.
I have modelled every step of the way: jot notes a good paragraph with an opening sentence, details and closing sentence. Most students are expected to have between 1 and 4 paragraphs done at school. Help is available in class from me and at times from Mrs. DeCourcy.
Students who are working with Mrs. DeCourcy should be taking home their jot notes to practice "speaking" from them in complete sentences. This way, they will be getting practise in changing their jot notes into sentences, ready to type them up! If you haven't seen any jot notes from Mrs. DeCourcy's group, you should expect them tomorrow!
Click here for an excellent resource from one of the books we use in class. Pick a page number (Greek-48-56) China 60 to 64, (Japan-66, Rome- 80-90) and it will take you to some excellent web sites. You might have to enter the name of the book: Ancient World, published by Scholastic (it is a Usborne Internet Linked book.)
