Facebook 101: What do people know about you?
Social networking is here to stay. It provides quick access to our lives and interests. Friends are people you choose to have access to whatever you post on your Facebook, or Twitter, or any of the other Social Networking Sites you may join. Mr. Chris Vollum talked to Emma King Students from grades 3 to 8 about how you can protect your privacy when you are on social networking sites like Facebook.
Any information you post (names, addresses, photos, interests, personal views) is open for anyone to copy and use in ways you never planned. Employers look on Facebook for your information, choices, views and leisure activities. Anyone can.

Facebook Friends
Some people brag about how many friends they have on Facebook. But unless you choose the correct setting, friends of friends have access to your photo albums and can download any of your photos to modify, change, or bully you.
You have some control over what people see. But, it is important that you really consider the information you post. Do you feel comfortable letting your mom and grandmother see it? Would you be proud of the photos or "jokes" you post?
